French Polynesia or Tahiti

French Polynesia is an overseas collectivity of France located in the South Pacific Ocean. It is composed of a group of islands and atolls scattered across an extensive area. The capital of French Polynesia is Papeete, which is situated on the island of Tahiti.

The territory is known for its stunning natural beauty, including turquoise lagoons, coral reefs, and lush landscapes. French Polynesia is a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors with its picturesque scenery and opportunities for water activities such as snorkeling and diving.

French Polynesia is made up of five main island groups: the Society Islands, Tuamotu Archipelago, Gambier Islands, Marquesas Islands, and Austral Islands. Tahiti and Bora Bora, both located in the Society Islands, are among the most well-known and visited destinations within French Polynesia.

As an overseas collectivity of France, French Polynesia has a special political status that allows it a degree of autonomy while remaining an integral part of the French Republic. The official languages are French and Tahitian, and the local currency is the CFP franc.
